Petrol Price Went Down Again

With the petrol prices going down for the fifth time, I guess a lot of companies will starts to lower down the Car Allowance that they raise up when the petrol hike went up few months a go. Hopefully mine will not as I heard many complains from friends that their company had been telling them that if the petrol price keep on going down, they will need to lower down the car allowance for all the employee as well due to the economic situation.

I am not affected as I do not have any car allowances by the company and the distance to and flo to my company is only 5 minute away by driving and 15 minutes away on walking distance, so I guess its alright not to have car allowance but I don’t like the idea that one of my colleague that live even nearer to the office getting his car allowance of 300 per month! HMPH! I shall be questioning my boss why this colleague of mine getting his car allowances even though he is not driving and why I do not have mine when I am driving to work almost everyday. Do you think I shall fight with my boss to get my own share of car allowance? A little raise will help in paying maybe one of two of the bills for the house..

I think the reason why your colleague has the car allowance is due to reduce the basic salary so that during bonus and increment time won’t be so big impact to the company. So think positively that you are still at the good site.
