He is very fussy. He will wake up crying almost every single time but thank god, it is not those unstopable crying.
At 16 days
1. He will wake up every 3 hours to eat
2. Refuse to sleep if nobody is carrying him
3. When he wants something, must be right away, not 5 minute later or even 1 second later..
4. Developed some rashes on the neck..should be the ruam panas..
5. He will smile when he wants to
6. Got a few sleeping pattern, kung fu style, cute style, innocent style..
7. Not really keen on drinking water anymore..
8. Will give you faces when you talk bad about him infront of him..
and more which I can’t even remember now..
Its really hard ..sigh!

here’s some tips for u, hope it helps :-
1. feed before the 3 hours so that baby will not fuss when hungry. this will answer your problem no.3 also. feed every 2 hourly if breastfeeding. try not to go so much on the hourly rule and more to demand and supply. feed when necessary, every baby is different.
2. try not to carry him too much as this will cause more problems later. instead bundle him up using a thin towel cloth. newborns are still not used to being outside the mother’s womb, so, will need to feel warm and cuddle.
4. try to keep baby’s skin as dry and as clean as possible. folded areas like the neck, arms, armpits, crotch, legs are easily prone to heat rashes. use baby powder on those areas and use a clean soft cotton hanky to wipe dry if necessary. for rashes on face, always make sure baby’s face and mouth is clean after every feeding. to clean it, use only warm water and clean hanky to wipe. do not use wet wipes on rashes. it will irritate the rashes further. also, during feeding, put a small hanky on his neck, so that excessive droll or milk from spit will not go to his neck. for more serious rashes, please consult your paed.
7. encourage water drinking by giving 1oz of plain water before feeding milk. hungry babies will drink more than fuller ones.
hope these tips help. let me know if u encounter more..
wah you are got experienced in this! Thanks!
2. I also trying not to carry him too much but I guess my MIL too pamper him already..he already used
to be carried and sleep in her arm.. -___-”.
4. Alamak, i just used the wipe today to wipe on the rashes..i thought it will be cooling for him -___-”
7. Water..when he knows it was the water, he just spit it all out.. -___-”
guess mine boy are really fussy person..anyway, I will try to counter all his problems
haha… take it easy.. this is all learnt from experience also…
water, try give him plain warm water.. as warm as his milk. he will drink. or else u can mix a little ‘Niu Nai Liang’ in the water. it can be purchased from chinese drug store, but i dunno they sell it at your area. don’t give gripe water.
remember that babies are born like a white clean paper. everything is trained out. do not get babies used to too much carrying as they will need u to carry everytime. i know it is very hard to resist carrying a baby and moreover if its the first child in the family. hahaha… try not to hold him unnecessarily, unless he is crying too hard. if he is not fussing or crying, just leave him on his bed and he will be used to it soon or later.. like i said, try wrapping him in cloth for the first few weeks..
My MIL giving him the gripe water..-___- almost every time when he got hiccup..sigh..and yes, my MIL also like to carrying him..which I am trying not to..wrapping him also got problem because my MIL said dont wrap so tight! pengsan or not..been quite number of argument arise from these problem..
the water, all the while been giving him warm one..but he still spit it out lol
oic.. gripe water is ok as long as dun give too much.. i never give gripe water for my girl anyway, as she drinks a lot of warm water. more over, she likes to sleep a lot, so, we just leave her in her crib or in the moses basket.
last time during my confinement i also have a lot of argument with my MIL but i never tell her directly. wrapping babies give them a sense of security, same with cuddle. but then just let your MIL be, let her spoil your baby as most grandparents do..
just go through your confinement as happy as u can, this is the most important thing. after your confinement, u can take over and take k of your baby already.
same case..dint tell her directly..anyway, i really dont like to give my son the gripe water..as he seem like rejecting normal water after he tasted the gripe water,..he even have the gut to spit out the water..-___-”
dont waanna be a scaremongerer but friends have toked about how gripe water has been linked to brain damage?? i dunno how true that is cuz babies hv been using it for generations… ?
dont think it has related to brain damage but since that its on sweet side, its will make the baby rejecting water..
hiya, friend was telling me that gripe water used to contain alcohol and that was what that worked. ( baby got high and sleepy) and was also the dangerous ingredient in gripe water. alcohol is no longer present in gripe water these days so it should be safe, i think . not sure if it works though!
i checked the label, dint have any alcohol based inside..but anyway, I am not so keen on using it as well..
I have absolutely no clue about this, because I’m not a dad but are you feeding him dairy milk, powdered milk or breast milk? The reason I asked is about the water he was drinking. I’m wondering if it has to do with the ‘no-taste’.
You know, I was just thinking about a friend’s baby teething. Wow, that’s going to be crazy insane for you when he starts growing teeth. Probably should look into various ways you can help ease the misery for Little D when he does start teething.
I guess its the no taste as the reason. I been feeding him breast + powder milk..
oh my, i dont like the teething idea at all..sigh
Well at first I thought breast milk is the best. So my honey breast feed our nano-d(10 mth now). Plain water is always after feeding. Now nano-d only drinks plain water and breast milk! I guess a little of everything is good too.
Still is the best hehehe, but too bad, cant really fully breastfeed my little-D. Wow, your nano-D are really lucky
salute to your honey for being there for your little nano-D for 10 months! I always tried to give little-D water after each feeding but he will normally spit it out even how hard we force him to..
