Hanging Plush Toy On Bumper Of Cars

I always wonder why people hang those plush toy on bumper of their car. At first I thought they are just having fun and hang it there and then its become a trend but upon searching online, I found out that it is actually originated from Korea and slowly become a trend everywhere especially in Thailand where most of them are taxi driver.

The hanging doll or stuffed animal is an offering to the spirits of those that died in a traffic accident and it is hoped that the spirit will play with the toy and leave the car’s driver alone. They believe that the ghost are waiting to be reborn and may provoke an accident by tricking a driver, especially at night. Thus they practice this hoping that the ghost will leave them alone.
Well, I saw many Malaysian did that as well and I am sure that they did not even know what it is for. For me, I rather don’t put anything below my car. Let just say like this, if no plus toy below my car, mean they won’t come and play with it. Get me?
